Provide public services the resources needed to deliver
Resolution endorsed at General Assembly 2024.
Underfunding of public services throughout European Member States has resulted in dramatic downturns in health, social and economic outcomes for European workers.
Consistent cuts to essential public services leave working people at the mercy of charitable organisations, who have been inundated with requests for assistance.
The European social model is underpinned by strong public services, which must receive higher funding to function, not cuts.
Included in this are labour inspectorates, who work tirelessly to ensure employers adhere to the protections afforded to them through European and national law. Trade Unions rely on these inspectorates on a daily basis, and we reaffirm our call to ensure that this essential service, as with all, are given the tools to deliver for workers.
