We mourn the passing of Luis Campoamor Fernández

Eurocadres sends their deepest condolences to the family of longstanding Executive Commitee member Luis Campoamor Fernández, who passed away this week. An affiliate of UGT since the 1960s, Luis would go on to become a member of the UTC-UGT Board of Directors from 1986.

Until his retirement, Luis was a coordinator of the Technicians and Cadres group in the Federation of Transport, Communication and Sea, as well as in the Federation of Services, Mobility and Consumption, having been elected to these roles from 1987.

Critical in the foundation of Eurocadres in 1993 and a member of our Executive Committee until his passing, Luis was an ever-present at our General Assemblies, Congress' and other Eurocadres events. His committment and passion for European trade unionism was a constant in the history of our organisation.

His legacy will live on through his lifetime of work in UGT and in Brussels.
