26.9.2014General

  2. In the EU Occupational Safety and Health Strategy mental health is mentioned, but there is nothing on how it will be promoted. Will the Commission develop any legislative action installing preventive measures for tackling psycho-social risks of professionals?

Tibor Navracsics – Proposed Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Citizenship

  1. Funding of education, research and innovation has risen, but not in balance with how much the Commission emphasises their importance. Will the Commission adjust its budget lines during the mid-term review?
  2. The EU has launched U-multirank as a global ranking tool of higher education institutions in Europe. How will the Commission improve its visibility to become the number one ranking tool in the world?
  3. The European Area of Skills and Qualifications proposal streamlines and puts together a number of educational instruments relating to the free movement of people. What does the Commission wish to achieve with this proposal?

Carlos Moedas – Proposed Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation

  1. Funding of education, research and innovation has risen, but not in balance with how much the Commission emphasises their importance. Will the Commission adjust its budget lines during the mid-term review?
  2. What would be the most important measure for the Commission to make Europe the global leader in research and innovation?
  3. In your view, is there a link between improving work conditions for European researchers and promoting international excellence of the EU’s research and science?
