Conference 1-2 Sept. 2016 on fair rights for creative and innovative work
Eurocadres conference on Making Intellectual Property Rights work at work – Unions and Innovation, the hallmark of strong IPR on 1-2 September 2016 in Brussels.
Eurocadres invites trade unions, employers, professional associations and other stakeholders to a conference on IPR addressing the political implications on society, companies and the employees. Digitalisation and social platforms have changed the way we work, how innovations are created and with whom they are shared or not. And they are the driving force behind the trend to limit individual rights. But these rights, such as spin-off rights, are crucial for those willing to become, for example, entrepreneurs which is pushed for and promoted by politics to tackle unemployment.

However, on the other hand, new creations, ideas and innovations are even deliberately shared in open-sources beneficial for society as a whole.
How to find a fair balance for society, companies and the employees?
We will try to give some answers to the questions and problems in a debate with representatives from trade unions, academia, employers and individuals who face in their daily working life limits of their IPR.
We would like to stress that with the engagement of our Belgium member organisations we are able to host the above mentioned European conference, which allows us a European exchange and debate.
